Marilyn Ashley is a licensed California Marriage and Family Therapist (CA LMFT #104007) who earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University. She has a private practice in Hermosa Beach, specializing in couples and individuals.
As Chiron's Family and Loved Ones Clinical Director, Marilyn works closely with Gina Medina, supporting all clinical activities related to First Responder family support. Similar to Gina, Marilyn experiences first-hand the life of a First Responder family, and this is initially what drew her to specializing in clinical support to the public safety community. Her daily personal interactions have been augmented with extensive training and opportunities to directly support our front line responders and their families specific to lethal use of force, mass-casualty response, and other significant critical incidents; as well as serving public safety individuals and couples in her private practice. Additionally, Marilyn has presented up and down the West Coast as part of Chiron's training cadre specific to resilience workshops, Critical Incident Stress Management, and Peer Support courses.
Prior to going back to school to get her Master's, Marilyn has enjoyed traveling the world and working in diverse and fast-paced circumstances. Bringing together all these personal and professional experiences to best serve as a clinician has been an excellent fit at this time in her life, and serving first responders and their families is an exceptionally rewarding opportunity to truly make a difference in the lives of those she respects and understands so well.
